Underberg, Aloia, Radetsky and Hirst of Rosenberg & Estis represent Cornell University in 55,000 s/f lease expansion

Manhattan, NY Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. served as legal counsel to Cornell University in its 55,000 s/f expansion at 156 William St. The college pursued the lease expansion for its Weill Cornell Medical College, which now occupies 85,000 s/f within the class A, 250,000 s/f office building. Neil Underberg, member; Mark Aloia, member; Lisa Radetsky, member; and Adam Hirst, associate, with Rosenberg & Estis represented Cornell University in the lease transaction. Cornell University signed a long-term lease to expand the occupancy of its Weill Cornell Medical College at 156 William Street by 55,000 s/f, bringing its total occupancy at the building to 85,000 s/f. The transaction includes 41,000 s/f of office space and 14,000 s/f of retail space, with the retail portion housing a medical imaging center. The 12-story 156 William St. was designed by Emery Roth & Sons and constructed in 1955. Macklowe and LaSalle Investment Management bought the 250,000 s/f office property in 2013. Ownership later divided 156 William St. into two condo units, selling one 57,000 s/f unit to the Blue School and retaining ownership of the other.
