Horowitz of Cohen Brothers Realty Corp. leases 9,200 s/f to Massachusetts Mutual

New York, NY In an important midtown office leasing transaction, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (Mass Mutual) has just signed a long-term lease for a portion of the 9th floor comprising 9,200 s/f at Charles S. Cohen’s 622 Third Ave. at 41 st St. Mass Mutual expects to move its agency office currently at 292 Madison Ave. into its new facilities in the fourth quarter of this year.
Cohen, who creatively transformed the former Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield Building into a distinctive million square foot Class A office tower now known as Grand Central Plaza after acquiring the property in the late 1990s, reports that 622 Third Avenue is now over 90% leased. A variety of spaces ranging from 4,000 s/f to 32,000 s/f full floors are presently available for lease in the building.
Marc Horowitz, senior vice president and national director of office leasing for Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation, along with a Colliers International leasing team of David Glassman and Joseph Cabrera represented the building’s ownership in the 7-year leasing transaction, while Stuart Romanoff and Amy Fox of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant.
