Savills Studley appoints Hollander and Fray
Hackensack, NJ Savills Studley has hired Harlan Hollander and Jason Fray as senior vice president and senior managing director.
Hollander, formerly an executive director at Cushman & Wakefield, has more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate, specializing in corporate advisory and tenant representation services.
He has developed strategic real estate solutions for numerous New Jersey-based companies, including the recent 350,000 s/f lease extension in Holmdel, N.J. for communication services firm Vonage; one of the largest deals of the year in the state. Additionally, in 2014 and 2015 Hollander was a key member of the brokerage team that represented Valeant Pharmaceuticals in its original 310,000 s/f headquarters lease and 300,000 s/f expansion at Somerset Corporate Center in Bridgewater, N.J. Hollander has completed some of the largest offices deals in New Jersey in each of the past three years. Prior to his career as a broker, Hollander practiced law at a Manhattan-based law firm, specializing in litigation.
“Savills Studley’s conflict-free business model of representing only tenants in their real estate decisions was an important attribute of the firm. As a lawyer, I understand the complications of working on both sides of a transaction and Savills Studley eliminates that uncertainty for their clients,” Hollander said.
Fray, a 15-year industry veteran, and also formerly of Cushman & Wakefield, joins Savills Studley with experience in both tenant representation and capital markets advisory services.
His previous clients include United Technologies, BNP Paribas and Kessler. Fray’s, tenant-focused approach enables him to create custom commercial real estate solutions tailored specifically to each client’s occupancy needs.
“I was drawn to Savills Studley not only because of the firm’s commitment to tenant representation, but also because of its growing global platform. I am excited to begin new relationships with companies looking to expand beyond New Jersey, as well as developing existing opportunities regionally,” Fray said.
Savills Studley has recently established several new offices in growing real estate markets across the United States, including Phoenix, Austin, Minneapolis and Baltimore. In addition, the firm has completed several high-profile acquisitions, highlighted by the purchase of Real Facilities in Toronto, a major tenant representation consulting firm in Canada and Cooper Brady Partners in Silicon Valley, a top performing firm in one of the nation’s hottest markets.
“We are delighted to get two high-caliper, seasoned veterans in the New Jersey real estate market that complement our global tenant representation platform. Their experience and deep client relationships blend perfectly with our entrepreneurial workplace,” said Chris Marx, senior vice president and branch manager of Savills Studley’s New Jersey office.
