Steven Sladkus accepting his REBNY award.
New York, NY According to Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP, a full-service law firm, one of its founding partners, Steven Sladkus, has received the Real Estate Board of New York’s (REBNY) Residential Management Community Service Award. Sladkus was cited for his outstanding commitment to charitable work, specifically on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
More than 500 members of New York City’s residential management community attended REBNY’s 18th Annual Residential Management Leadership Breakfast on February 24 at the Grand Ballroom of The Roosevelt Hotel, to honor Sladkus and co-honoree Bill Brake, of Related Management Company, who was presented with the Residential Management Executive of the Year Award.
“It was a great honor to celebrate the accomplishments of Bill Brake and Steven Sladkus, who we thank for their dedication to their professional duties, contributions to our industry, and service to the greater community,” said John Banks, III, REBNY president.
At Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP, Sladkus represents clients in a diverse range of real estate-related litigation with a concentration on cooperative and condominium law.
In a statement, REBNY said, “Mr. Sladkus has made significant contributions to the community as a member of the Metro New York and Western New York Board of Directors for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Steven was commended for his service to and fundraising efforts for the organization, which grants wishes for children enduring life-threatening medical conditions.”
In his acceptance remarks, Sladkus said, “When children are sick they are at the most vulnerable times of their lives. And when they wish for something and have that actually come true, it gives them a sense of power... that they have control over their lives when they haven’t had it for so long because of their sickness. And, through getting those wishes, it drives them to seek treatment and get better.”
