New York, NY On October 27, CREW New York, one of the largest organizations for women in commercial real estate in New York City, hosted a tour, panel discussion and networking event at the newly remodeled Brookfield Place. With its 24/7 mixed-use community space, Brookfield Place (formerly World Financial Center), is transforming the lower Manhattan neighborhood into a sought-after destination for retailers, consumers and professionals. “It is always a pleasure to give our CREW New York members an opportunity to shine and take pride in the great work they do,” said Jane Lyons, co-president of CREW New York and a managing partner at Rhodes Associates. “Our rich real estate network within CREW New York includes many talented individuals. We were thrilled to have Megan, Tara and Callie show us the incredible results of their efforts in helping to develop, design and map out Brookfield Place.” CREW New York members and key representatives from Brookfield Place came together for this professional networking event with tours and a panel discussion from Megan Brothers, vice president of Design; Tara Goldstein, vice president of Marketing; and Callie Haines, vice president of Asset Management. The three vice presidents, who are also members of CREW New York, provided an exclusive look inside Brookfield Place and discussed the conceptualization, design and leasing process during a panel discussion and Q-and-A session. At the conclusion of the presentation, attendees were encouraged to network and mingle over cocktails and light appetizers. Brookfield Place will bring a uniquely curated mix of luxury retailers, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Equinox Gym and Le District, a French-themed marketplace/restaurant complex. Nearly complete with 250,000 s/f of retail, Brookfield Place is almost fully leased out and has already earned its place as lower Manhattan’s premier retail destination. CREW New York also hosted a luncheon and networking event on November 3. The event featured conversation with Michael Fascitelli, CEO of Imperial Companies and founder of MDF Capital LLC. Fascitelli is a member of the Vornado Realty Trust Board of Trustees and former president and CEO of Vornado Realty Trust. The conversation was moderated by Dan Geiger, senior real estate reporter at Crain’s New York Business. Fascitelli and Geiger discussed game changers within New York City’s built environment. They touched on various topics such as drivers, trends and emerging opportunities in New York’s Tri-State area; projects that Mike is currently working on; and New York’s place in the global marketplace. “Mike is a powerhouse in the real estate industry. We were thrilled to have him speak to the 170-plus real estate professionals who joined us for our November luncheon and networking event,” said Lyons. “We’re very grateful to Mike and Dan for their time, and to our many sponsors who support our programming and initiatives throughout the year.” “We were proud to host yet another fantastic event for New York’s commercial real estate community with this great conversation between Mike and Dan,” said CREW New York co-president Christine Chipurnoi, senior vice president of Wells Fargo Insurance Services. “We’ve hosted more than 50 events in 2015 for our members and the commercial real estate community at-large. The fact that our membership is up by 25% this year speaks to the value that we’re able to deliver on a regular basis with diverse programming, from intimate networking events to large-scale panels and keynote presentations with industry leaders.”
