NAI Hanson (www.naihanson.com), one of the leading New Jersey-based commercial real estate firms, has facilitated a long-term lease of 84,400 s/f of industrial space for its client, Plated, at 511 Barry St.
Senior vice president Barry Cohorsky, SIOR, of NAI James E. Hanson, represented Plated in the transaction. Senior vice presidents John Reinertsen and Timothy Sheehan, of CBRE, Inc., represented landlord Baldor Specialty Foods, Inc.
Plated is a weekly subscription-based service that provides boxes of fresh, seasonal, pre-portioned ingredients and chef-designed recipes for customers to prepare meals at home. The company was looking for a space to accommodate its expanding business as the healthy eating trend continues to grow.
"We identified a number buildings in both New York and New Jersey to visit in order to find the best solution for Plated," said Cohorsky. "Of all the inventory we looked at, 511 Barry offered the best combination of size, location and technical capacity - specifically refrigeration."
Located off of the Bruckner Expressway, the site provides easy access to several major highways, including the Major Deegan and Cross Bronx Expressways as well as the Bronx River Parkway.
