Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) has completed a transaction for 1285 LLC at 1285 Avenue of the Americas, the UBS Building, with Chop't Creative Salad Co. The food retailer signed a 10-year lease for 2,030 s/f of ground-floor retail space at the 1.7 million s/f class A office building. The building owner, 1285 LLC, was represented by John Ryan III, managing director, and Edward DiTolla, senior vice president, with JLL's New York office. The tenant, Chop't Creative Salad Company, was represented by Robert Hantgan with Esquire Properties. The 1285 Avenue of the Americas building is located on Sixth Ave. between West 51st St. and West 52nd St. "Chop't Creative Salad Co. found 1285 Avenue of the Americas to be an ideal location for its third Manhattan store," said Ryan. "The class A office building has a large contingent of office workers, as it is nearly completely leased to large corporate tenants. The company fought off bids from a number of competing retailers to take this space in the building." Chop't Creative Salad Company was founded in 2001. The company prepares all dressings, salads and salad products fresh every day at each of its locations. It has three existing stores in New York and is opening a store in Washington, D.C.
