Spotlights
East Harlem's first eco-friendly green luxury condominium "Observatory Place" at 104th and First Ave. is featured in "Greenopia": The Urban Dweller's Guide to Green Living, that lists all things "green" in New York. The official launch of the book, published by Green Media Group LLC, is on Earth Day, April 22. The book is authored by Siobhan Kelly.
Observatory Place, which is scheduled to open this summer, is already one third sold out.
Designed and developed by Gary Silver Architects, P.C., East Harlem's eco-friendly 11-story, 38-unit condominium, (LEED registered), incorporates sustainable "green" design, with a bi-level green roof-top deck which will be covered with plantings and grass to help reduce storm water runoff and provide relief from the summer heat, in addition to creating an oasis for residents.
"The building's green design imbues the project with the sensibilities of both healthy living and environmental responsibility," said Observatory Place developer Gary Silver, who is also the architect who designed the building.
All residents have access to both the green rooftop deck and a modern rooftop fitness center.
Apartments range from spacious studios, to one-two bedrooms and three bedroom penthouses, all with modern kitchens, energy-saving appliances and baths.
