Claffey of RFR Realty leases 12,204 s/f retail space to CVS Health at 757 Third Avenue
December 22, 2014 - Brokerage
According to RFR Realty LLC, retailer CVS Health has signed a lease for 12,204 s/f at 757 Third Ave. The retailer took space on the ground floor corner and basement of the building—space previously occupied by Wells Fargo Bank and RCN. The new CVS Health lease required both a temporary and permanent relocation of RCN. RCN will temporarily move to RFR's 275 Madison Ave. until its permanent location is ready for occupancy.
"The major interior and exterior capital improvements completed at the building have made it very attractive to office and retail tenants," said Jordan Claffey, RFR's head of retail leasing, who handled the transaction. "CVS Health will be a great amenity for tenants in 757 Third Ave., as well as a welcome convenience to the neighborhood in general."
Capital improvements at the building began in 2012 and included the installation of new retail storefronts and refinishing of the building façade. RFR also added a new lobby with art program, upgraded elevator cabs and added new common corridors and bathrooms. The building's infrastructure was upgraded to include enhanced, energy efficient HVAC systems, new building energy management system, and access control and visitor management system. RFR also rolled out a high-end prebuilt program to target boutique tenants.
Within the past 24 months, RFR has completed new leases and renewals for nearly 400,000 of the building's 500,000 s/f.
