Tuesday's Children, the nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the unmet needs of the families of 9/11, launched a broad new initiative, expanding beyond the victims' families to help all Ground Zero rescue and recovery workers who need ongoing support.
The new initiative is called Tuesday's Champions.
Among all Ground Zero recovery workers, hundreds of construction and iron workers, and their families, will now have access to services including wellness and stress management training, educational and career guidance, and personal finance workshops, said Carmine Calzonetti, president of Tuesday's Children.
"Tuesday's Champions will be a helping hand for the helping hands of 9/11," said Calzonetti.
"The brave construction workers, emergency service personnel, government employees, and volunteers who gave their all selflessly following September 11, 2001 now have ongoing needs as a direct result of their courageous acts. As we have stood by the 9/11 families, Tuesday's Champions is now committed to helping them.
