The Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) held a joint luncheon with the Society of Office & Industrial Realtors (SIOR) at the Union League Club. Francis Greenburger, president & CEO of Time Equities, Inc., was the keynote speaker and the topic "Independent Thinking in Real Estate Investing." The event was sponsored by National Maintenance Supply Co.
Also at the event, John Rogaski was sworn in as an Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) by chapter president, Paul Gottsegen, CPM.
Edward McBride, CPM, and IREM instructor, also swore in Benjamin Sopkin as a Certified Property Manager (CPM) at the luncheon. Sopkin was joined by his son at the event.
The next event for the chapter will be the installation of officers at its Special Recognition Awards on January 22nd, 2015. The black-tie optional event will be held at Water's Edge located at the East River at 44th Dr., Long Island City. Cocktails start at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $200 per person. The RSVP date is January 16th, 2015.

* Elizabeth Majkowski, CPM, senior vice president, operations of SL Green Realty Corp.: Certified Property Manager of the Year.
* NAI Long Island: Accredited Management Organization of the Year.
* Gary Alexander of Belfor Property Restoration: Industry Partner of the Year.
