Racanelli Construction to build new Marriott Hotel in Westbury

Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. has been awarded a contract to build a new six-floor Marriott Hotel. Racanelli is serving as the construction manager on the project for the customer, CHSGN Long Island Hotel Partners, LLC (Franklin, TN) The project is scheduled for completion in January 2015.
The project involves the removal on underground piers, extensive site work and the construction of an underground parking garage, parking deck with island planters and the six-story hotel. Post-tension concrete slabs will be used for the first and second floors while pre-cast concrete planks will be used on third to sixth floors.
In addition to the post-tension concrete slabs and pre-cast concrete planks, the project will entail the application of concrete masonry unit walls and shear walls, and a single-ply roofing membrane. It will feature an exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS), stone veneer and a parapet (i.e., a barrier extending at the wall at the edge of a roof, terrace, balcony, walkway or other structure) with the Marriott sign.
