Name: Cynthia Wasserberger
Title: Managing Director
Company Name: JLL
Years in Commercial Real Estate: 17
In the last 12 months, which project, transaction, honor or accomplishment are you most proud of and why?
The project I am most proud of was assisting Tiger Management in its renewal of 79,000 s/f at 101 Park Ave. I have been assisting hedge funds with their real estate needs for more than 17 years, and it was an absolute honor to meet the legendary Julian Robertson. We were then fortunate to help his foundation secure new office space in summer 2014.
What were your biggest fears when you started out in your profession?
Early in my career, I was afraid to ask for help when I was out of my depth on something. Now, I look to leverage resources and people who can be beneficial to a particular transaction.
What was your first job and what did you learn from it?
My first job was working as an analyst and programmer at EDS (Electronic Data Systems). It taught me that my real prowess was not just being behind the scenes crunching numbers, but working directly with clients and enjoying face-to-face interaction.
What is your favorite quote?
Favorite quote - "Problems are inevitable. Misery is a choice."
To me, I think about this quote in the sense that you should start each day ready to tackle the challenges and problems that lie ahead, but do it with a light sense of spirit.
