On July 17th, the new $80 million Holiday Inn Brooklyn Nevins Station, designed by Gene Kaufman Architect (GKA), topped out and the milestone was celebrated by the project's development, design and construction teams. The new 15-story hotel, located at 300 Schermerhorn St., is owned by 300 Schermerhorn Realty LLC and managed by New York Hotel Management LLC. The general contractor on the project, which is slated to open in mid-2015, is JJSL Development Inc.
"This new hotel is a poignant moment in the much-heralded transformation of Downtown Brooklyn," said Gene Kaufman, founder of GKA. "This full-service Holiday Inn, featuring premium amenities such as a swimming pool, first-class dining venues and event spaces as well as a duplex penthouse presidential suite, is a clear sign that Brooklyn has become an international destination in its own right."
Located in downtown Brooklyn, the new Holiday Inn Brooklyn Nevins Station is minutes from the Barclay's Center, the Brooklyn Academy of Music and a mix of shopping, dining and entertainment venues. The contemporary 90,000 s/f, 246-room hotel will have 15 floors with more than 3,000 s/f of meeting and event spaces. Visitors will enjoy warm, exceptionally comfortable rooms with creature comforts and business-focused necessities such as an ergonomic workstation and data ports. Guest amenities also include a sauna, steam room, indoor pool and a Jacuzzi.
