According to Winick Realty Group broker Charles Rapuano, a new Provençal restaurant has been leased for restaurateurs Carlos Suarez and Mark Barak, known for their popular eateries Bobo and Rosemary's.
Called Claudette, the restaurant is located at 24 Fifth Ave., which Rapuano called an "amazing corner" to which Suarez and Barak were drawn because of "its close proximity to Washington Sq. Park, Union Sq. and NYU."
"Carlos Suarez and Mark Barak are very familiar with the area and know the market well, thanks to the two restaurants they operate nearby," said Rapuano, who represented the restaurateurs.
Suarez and Barak gut-renovated the 2,409 s/f restaurant, which also includes 2,044 s/f in the basement (4,453 s/f total). Claudette features menus from Chef Wade Moises and Chef de Cuisine Koren Grieveson that "focus on local produce, seafood and North African aromatics found in the Provençal kitchen," according to the restaurant's website.
