U.S. Navy vice admiral speaks at NAI Long Island's Spring '14 Cocktail Party

NAI Long Island (NAILI) hosted its Spring '14 Cocktail Party at Cold Spring Country Club. The event brought together clients, colleagues, and dignitaries for a night of networking. NAILI was honored to have Long Island patriot, vice admiral Kevin McCoy of the U.S. Navy (Ret.) as the guest speaker. McCoy, originally from Commack, and brother of NAILI's Dennis McCoy, completed a 36-year career in the U.S. Navy, rising to the rank of vice admiral. McCoy served as the chief engineer of the U.S. Navy from 2005-2008, and as commander of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), where he led an organization of 60,000 personnel in the design, procurement, construction oversight, maintenance, modernization, and engineering support of the U.S. Navy's fleet of submarines, surface ships, aircraft carriers, and weapon systems. McCoy is currently the president of Irving Shipbuilding Inc. in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada, where they provide full-service shipbuilding, fabrication, conversion and repair. McCoy spoke about his passion, The Wounded Warrior Project, and later was presented with a citation on behalf of Nassau County executive Edward Mangano and the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency.
