Adan joins IVI International, Inc. as director of seismic assessment services

According to IVI International, Inc., a leading construction and environmental consultancy, Scott Adan, Ph.D., P.E., S.E., SECB, a nationally recognized expert in earthquake and seismic analysis, has joined the firm as director of seismic assessment services. In this role, Dr. Adan will consult institutional mortgagees and investor clients on seismic risk assessment, mitigation, and structural improvements.
Adan has more than 23 years of experience in civil and structural engineering and an impressive list of professional certifications and committee memberships.
As a member of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI), he was recently named to EERI's concrete coalition advisory committee. He is also a member of the Structural Engineer's Association of California (SEAOC). His honors include an Award of Merit by SEAONC and a President's Award for Outstanding Service by the Structural Engineer's Association of Washington.
Recently, at the three-day 2014 NASCC Steel Conference in Toronto, Canada, Adan was a featured speaker for "Design Tips for Constructible Steel-Framed Buildings in High Seismic Regions" - practical for designers that can raise constructability while lowering the cost of steel framed building structures.
Adan's appointment is the latest in IVI International's continuing additions to their in-house specialty services, which include Asbestos and Seismic Risk Surveys, Forensic and Zoning Studies, Indoor Air Quality & Mold Assessments, Construction Cost Estimating/Consulting and Cap-Ex Replacement Reserve Studies.
IVI's specialty services are included in many of their risk management and due diligence packages, but they can also work as stand-alone services to meet the specific needs of their clients.
