Ellen Feld began her real estate career in 1985 and became a broker in 1987. She is an award-winning Realtor who has been an active member of the Bronx Manhattan North Association of Realtors since 1999. Feld currently co-chairs the Association's Grievance Committee. She has earned the GRI designation and has received the Platinum Club Award having earned more than ten multi-million dollar awards.
In 2009, one of the most economically challenging years in recent history, Feld joined Riverdale's Exclusive Properties Sotheby's International Realty in the task of opening the office as a start-up operation. Feld has been an associate broker with Exclusive Properties Sotheby's International Realty since then.
In 2002 Feld received the Association's Community Leadership Award for her outstanding work with NAR's Realtors Housing Relief Fund. For almost three months, she brought checks for rent, maintenance and mortgage payments to the families of those who lost family members on 9/11/2001. The effort took her, working alone and with a colleague, to private homes and to apartment buildings ranging from projects to luxury high-rises. She personally delivered financial aid and consoled over 25 families.
Feld has long been active in community and political affairs. In 2010 she was key in creating the South Riverdale Avenue Merchants Association and was elected its first president. Under her leadership, the Avenue was revitalized and has gone from a street with many empty storefronts to one with all of the storefronts sold or rented.
For four times, first in1982, Feld has served multi-year terms as president of the Benjamin Franklin Reform Democratic Club and currently holds the position. Her previous professional activities have included U.S. Senate and Democratic National Committee staff, chief of staff for Bronx Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, and positions at the American Jewish Committee and Boston University's Human Relations Laboratory in New York City. For four years, she was Administrator of the New York Society for Ethical Culture.
Ellen believes that one of the essential requirements for a successful real estate career is a sense of humor. Her personal definition of the profession is: A series of problems occasionally interrupted by a closing.
Feld received the BMAR Realtor of the Year Award for 2014
