Over 150 industry professionals, environmental advocates, and academics turned out on February 27th for the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate Center for the Sustainable Built Environment's 4th Annual Conference on Sustainable Real Estate. The conference, "Taking Stock and Moving Forward: Ideas for the Next Generation of Sustainable Real Estate," featured four panels discussing and evaluating the accomplishments of the real estate and construction industries in adopting and implementing sustainable practices.
The morning keynote speaker was Kathleen Hogan, deputy assistant secretary for energy efficiency of the U.S. Department of Energy. Kyle Kimball, president of the N.Y.C. Economic Development Corp. (EDC) was the afternoon keynote speaker.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. sponsored this year's event held at the NYU Kimmel Center.
