Joseph Mawad is the president and sole shareholder of Tekniverse, Inc., a full service Information Technology firm. Tekniverse specializes in real estate owner and property management software applications as well as computer networking infrastructure solutions. From its meager beginning as a small office with one desk, Mawad has expanded the business to a company with over 100 clients and fifteen full-time employees. Mawad's clients are leading New York real estate firms, the majority of which operate in the metropolitan area. He started his career in the field of computer science where he garnered programming and technical skills that eventually led to his involvement in a software compiler development project. In 1985, this project brought him from Sydney, Australia to New York with Transportable Software International. Mawad is a member of many real estate organizations such as the Bronx-Manhattan Board of Realtors, CHIP (Community Housing Improvement Program, Inc.) and participates in many philanthropic activities. He lives on Long Island with his wife Mary Ellen and his son Joey.
