Warren of Kaufman Org. secures 13,000 s/f sub-lease at 636 Avenue of the Americas to Movable Ink

The Kaufman Org., which specializes in leasing and managing premier office space in New York City, recently brokered a 13,000 s/f sublease at 636 Avenue of the Americas for Movable Ink, a growing tech company recognized as one of New York City's coolest enterprise start-ups by Business Insider. Movable Ink' assists companies in sending out emails based on location, device, timing, etc. The company's Agile Email Marketing Platform allows email to become responsive in real-time and offers businesses with the ability to modify messages after they have been sent to consumers which allows messaging to be updated in one correspondence, rather than multiple. Movable Ink also offers an expansive professional services package that includes campaign support and planning, strategic consulting and custom development projects. "After outgrowing our two previous spaces, Movable Ink was in the market for an office that could accommodate our rapidly growing staff," said Vivek Sharma, CEO of Movable Ink. "The space at 636 Avenue of the Americas provides us with the rare opportunity to stay in the neighborhood we love and move into a furnished full-floor office, with high-ceilings and great light; all we had to do was plug-in our computers." Although terms of the lease were undisclosed, Elliot Warren of the Kaufman Org. represented Movable Ink and Jim Wenk of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the sub-landlord, SecondMarket. The space has a creative and open layout with break-out rooms, a dedicated IT and server room, a kitchen, an iPod docking station and built in projector with retracting screen. 636 Avenue of the Americas, built in 1902, is a class A building owned by Macklowe and Co. The six-story property is within walking distance of five subway lines and the offices of Twitter, Spotify, Mashable, We-Work and other innovative tech companies that call Flatiron home. The building has a newly renovated lobby, is accessible 24/7 and offers tenants concierge and intercom service. Tenants include SecondMarket, Sequence and Krupp Communications. The retail space on the ground floor is home to the Sports Authority.
