The Association of Real Estate Women (AREW) will hold a luncheon on March 4th at Club 101, 101 Park Ave. at 40th St. The event will run from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The guest speaker is MaryAnn Gilmartin, president and CEO of Forest City Ratner Cos. As a top professional in the commercial real estate field, Gilmartin has been named one of New York City's most powerful and influential women. She has been point person in the development of some of the city's most high profiled real estate projects including: * Barclay's Center, the new sports and entertainment venue and the centerpiece of the $4.9 billion, 22-acre mixed-use Atlantic Yards development in Brooklyn which will include 6,430 units of housing, 2,250 of which will be affordable. * The New York Times Building designed by architect Renzo Piano. * The recently opened New York Gehry, the tallest residential building in the Western Hemisphere, designed by achitect Frank Gehry. * In addition, she has managed the commercial portfolio at MetroTech Center in downtown Brooklyn, which consists of 6.7 million s/f of class A office space.
