The popular BoConcept high-end Danish modern furniture company announced it will open its "first ever" outlet January 28th at the Queens Crossing indoor mall in downtown Flushing. The 5,000 s/f one level store will sell over-stocked items, showroom samples and specialty pieces exclusively designed for the outlet. "Everything sold at the outlet will be up to 70% off regular prices," said Shaokao Cheng, who along with his wife, Niki, own the outlet and has opened five BoConcept Brand stores in Manhattan and Brooklyn and three in Long Island and New Jersey. The Chengs, the largest BoConcept franchise owner in the United States, brought the idea of opening the first BoConcept outlet in the world to the company's executives in Denmark, who gave their approval last year. "We hope to bring the BoConcept design to more customers who appreciate our affordable and popular functional and modular furniture and accessories," said Niki Cheng. "The outlet will have the same smart, sleek and perfectly suited pieces that complement today's contemporary apartments and homes and can be made to work together or separately." "Our team here in Denmark is extremely excited about the first BoConcept Outlet in the world," said Carsen Pedersen, BoConcept president USA Inc. "New York City is a major market for us and Queens is fast transforming into a major retail destination." "Downtown Flushing is the perfect place to bring our classic, chic style at affordable price points to our more price-savvy customers." The Chengs signed a long-term lease with F & T Group, the Queens-based commercial real estate development company that owns Queens Crossing Mall, located one block from #7 Main Street Flushing stop. The BoConcept outlet will join a strong mix of both local and international brands, including TD Bank, MANGO, Paris Baguette and Nori Nori Japanese Buffet among others.
