The western New York chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of REALTORS (WNY NYSCAR) held its seventh annual awards dinner and swearing in ceremony for the 2008 board of directors on February 12. This year's awards dinner was a record attendance of 226 members, guests, and friends of the commercial real estate practitioners of WNY in the Golden Ballroom of the Statler Building. The WNY chapter award for the largest sale transaction of 2007 was granted to commercial broker Alan Hastings of Hastings Cohn Real Estate, LLC, for his sale of Autumn Creek Apartments in Amherst from NWD, LLC valued at $15.5 million. The largest lease transaction was awarded to Jeffrey LiPuma of CBRE, for the 10-year lease of 18,677 s/f at 550-600 Centerpointe. Other award recipients included Marsha Henderson, vice president of external affairs of University at Buffalo (UB) for the Meritorious Service Award and Victor Peterson, chairman of the board of MJ Peterson, for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
