Practising Law Institute (PLI), one of the nation's largest provider of continuing legal education, has relocated to a new home in Midtown. VVA Project Managers & Consultants provided overall project management services for this build-out and relocation of PLI's new high-tech conference center.
1177 Ave. of the Americas, formerly known as the America's Tower, is a class A building. PLI's 68,000 s/f conference center features HD video and audio recording and processing equipment; each seat features pre-loaded iPads with program materials, WiFi availability in the lounge, a faculty "ready room," and an on-site business center.
"The move will be a tremendous development for both PLI staff and seminar attendees. Access will be easier for our customers as there is a dedicated lobby entrance on 45th St. for our attendees and our new space has been designed to maximize their experience," said PLI president Victor Rubino.
Overall project management was led by Lorenzo Vascotto, managing director, and Eric Wagner, senior associate, at VVA. The extended project team included Ira Schuman of Studley; Bryan Bell of Gensler; as well as Larry Oxman of Structure Tone.
"PLI is a premier name in the legal industry," noted Lorenzo Vascotto of VVA, "we are pleased with the success of the project and thoroughly appreciated working with such an extraordinary team at PLI."
"Silverstein Properties is extremely excited to have the well-established organization, Practising Law Institute, take up residence at 1177 Avenue of the Americas," said Roger Silverstein, Executive Vice President. "We look forward to working with PLI and its customers for many years to come."
