November 25, 2013 - Brokerage
Friedman-Roth Realty Services arranged the sale of a Washington Heights apartment building located at 780 Riverside Dr. The 11-story pre-war elevator building, formerly known as "The Vauxhall," consists of 91 residential units and encompasses 111,260 s/f.
Built in 1914, it was the last of the subway boom apartment buildings built in Audubon Park. Originally built as a rental building, it was purchased in 1920 by forty tenants who operated it as a co-operative apartment house but was later reverted back to a rental building. The property features large apartments, some with as many as 7 rooms and 3 full bathrooms and expansive views.
This is the first sale of 780 Riverside Dr. since 1948 and the transaction contract/closed for a purchase price of $32.378 million. Friedman-Roth's Jim Thorp represented the seller and George Niblock, a managing partner, procured the purchaser.
