CoreNet Global New York City Chapter (CoreNet NYC) has hosted "Developing, Maintaining and Inspiring High Performance Corporate Real Estate Organizations" on Wednesday, September 18th at The Westin New York.
With the influx of urbanization and the growing appeal of untraditional corporate environments, there is increased pressure for business change in corporate real estate strategy and industry professionals are forced to reexamine what is necessary to meet the needs of those who work and establish a high performance organization.
During a moderated discussion addressing the need for corporate real estate and human resources to co-create work place strategy, Pay Wu, VP of global business services at American Express led a panel of experts.
The panelists included:
* Michael Davidson, managing director & head of the New York Region & Global Corporate & Investment Bank Real Estate Portfolio, JP Morgan Chase and Co.
* Adrienne Fretz, partner, OnPoint HR Solutions
* Kurt Ochalla, MBA, CEng, MCR, senior director of Business Partner and Strategic Planning, Philips
* Gagan Sing, VP, Goldman Sachs
To move forward, expand space and the value of the places where people work, organizations must adopt a balanced, strategically integrated approach to corporate real estate. "The decision making process in large organizations can be challenging - executives and consultants must be flexible," Ochalla said. An article by Brady Mick in CoreNet Global's The Leader, Trends in Corporate Real Estate: the Role of Strategy echoed this perspective and emphasized the need to consider stakeholders when considering the future. "Know your business," said Fretz.
