Monroe Roadways breaks ground for Collegtown; 500,000 s/f mixed-use development at University of Rochester

Monroe Roadways, local leading site construction expert, was awarded the contract for site construction services of the new 500,000 s/f mixed-use development at the intersection of Mt. Hope and Elmwood Aves. Monroe is joining a partnership involving Fairmount Properties and Gilbane Development. Project completion is slated for Fall of 2014.

"Serving as a gateway to the University of Rochester's Medical Center, Collegetown will enhance the quality of life for both the Mt. Hope neighborhood community, and the University of Rochester."
Monroe will be preparing the site for six buildings overall, which feature the following: a five-story, 1,560-space parking garage; a five-story, 150-room Hilton Garden Inn and Conference Center; a 20,000 s/f, two-story Barnes & Noble bookstore; a 20,000 s/f supermarket; in addition to over 73,000 s/f of street-level shops and restaurants, 50,000 s/f of office space, and 154,000 s/f of rental residential space. Monroe will be self-performing all work, including earthwork, grading, utilities, concrete, and asphalt paving.
