The prototype for the next generation of Victoria's Secret stores will open this fall.
In a recent retail leasing transaction, according to real estate owner/developer Jack Resnick & Sons, The Limited, on behalf of its Victoria's Secret brand, has leased 20,000 s/f comprising the street level, second floor, and below ground level at Resnick's 133 East 58th St., at the northwest corner of Lexington Ave.
The two-level glass store, which will have over 80 ft. of frontage along Lexington Ave. and 85 ft. along West 58th St., is now being designed by Victoria's Secret architect Rebecca Cheng.
According to Resnick, the 15-year lease includes a five-year option, which could raise its aggregate value to over $100 million. No outside brokers were involved.
"This is an extraordinary location for an outstanding fashion brand," said Resnick chairman and CEO Burt Resnick, who said that construction of the store is already underway, with a projected opening sometime in September.
Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Victoria's Secret Lingerie operates more that 1,000 stores across the country.
