Title: Managing Principal
Company: CK Realty Partners, LLC
Location: New York, N.Y.
Birthplace: Syracuse, N.Y.
Education: Penn State University, Real Estate Finance
First job in real estate or allied field: In high school and college I worked summers on job sites for my father's construction company, MCK Building Associates. It was tough work and usually sweltering hot but the experience continues to serve me very well today in many ways.
What do you do now and what are you planning for the future? I run CK Realty Partners in Manhattan. Our primary function is placing debt and equity for commercial real estate projects sourced from our many institutional and private relationships. Whether working for a client, or on sponsored co-investment, we fill the role of financial underwriter and presenter to the capital markets. Our goal is to become known in the market for loyalty, extreme persistence and execution, and therefore continue to build repeat clients.
How do you unwind from a busy day in real estate? Exercising/sports, reading and relaxing at home with my amazing wife Laura, and seven month old son, James.
Favorite book or author: "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Dumas
Favorite movie: "Major League," "Saving Private Ryan," "Good Will Hunting," and many more.
Last song you downloaded? The Lumineers' album
Rules to live by in business: Be decisive. Don't have an ego. Always be learning. Crawl over glass for anyone offering you a good opportunity. And a great one from Churchill: "Success is not final, failure is not fatal."
If you could invite one person to dinner (living or dead) who would it be and where would you go? Babe Ruth. We'd go for hot dogs and beers.
