The sales and leasing team of Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, Joseph Aquino, executive vice president, and Arthur Maglio of Douglas Elliman's Retail Group has been awarded the exclusive agency for 582-586 East 187th St., consisting of two vacant stores, which may be leased individually or combined, and the sale of the eight-story, multi-use building in which they are located. The highly trafficked corridor between Arthur Ave. and Hoffman St. is in the Belmont/Little Italy section, close to Fordham University, St. Barnabas Hospital, the Bronx Zoo and, coming soon, the second location of historic pizzeria, John's of Bleecker St. "This block is perfectly poised for fashion, beauty or services," said Consolo. "Not only does it have a vibrant street life, it is literally around the corner from the Arthur Ave. Retail Market, with its wonderful Italian specialty food shops and popular Bronx Beer Hall." Maglio said, "Belmont is one of those neighborhoods where residents, merchants, students and tourists converge daily. But when I learned that John's of Bleecker St. had chosen this area for its first new restaurant in 80 years, I knew this Little Italy was ready for important changes!" The previous retail tenant at 582-586 East 187th St., B&G Clothes, occupied both stores for more than 35 years, comprising a 2,040 s/f ground level space with basement and approximately 35 ft. of frontage; and a 740 s/f ground level space with basement and approximately 15 ft. of frontage. In addition to a full complement of services, banks, entertainment, schools and more, neighboring attractions include Yankee Stadium, Ciccarone Park and The New York Botanical Garden.
