The Greater New York chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management will hold a luncheon on September 25 at the Union League Club, 38 East 27th St. from 11:30 to 1:30 The luncheon will feature keynote speaker James Nelson, a partner with Massey Knakal Realty Services
And on October 22, IREM-NY will hold a course Ethics for the Real Estate Manager from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm at1619 Third Ave.
Addressing ethical dilemmas commonly faced by today's real estate managers, this DVD-based course teaches strategies for resolving ethical dilemmas and adherence to the IREM Code of Professional Ethics, culminating in an exam to earn IREM credentialing credit.
Applications to real world situations, ethical duties to clients, tenants/residents, employers, and colleagues.
Ethical decision making: Ethical vs. unethical business practices, tactics for resolving ethical dilemmas, scenarios with ethical implications.
Conflict of interest: Fiduciary relationships, conflict of interest scenarios.
Detailed case study: Enforcement of the IREM Code of Professional Ethics, the role of the IREM.
Ethics and Discipline Committee, review of actual ethics cases and their implications..
