Desiree Gargano has joined the Litigation Practice Group at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP as an associate. She had previously worked at the firm as an intern. Her other internships include serving as a judicial intern at NYS Supreme Court County of Nassau for Justice Woodard, as an intern for congressman Steve Israel and then for assemblyman Joseph Saladino. From Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg, Gargano earned her juris doctor in December 2012.
A staff member of Touro Law Review, she made the dean's list, and earned CALI Awards for Academic Excellence in Legal Process I, Legal Process II (Best Brief), Civil Disobedience, and Administrative Law. She was in the accelerated studies program and was active in school activities. She served as the treasurer and then president for the Environmental Law Society; led the International Law Students Association as its Evening VP; and participated in the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition.
Gargano earned her undergraduate degree, cum laude, in Philosophy with a minor in International Politics and Government from Long Island University/CW Post Center. Her honors include: Phi Sigma Tau, Iota Chapter (Philosophy National Honor Society) and the dean's list. She was also a member of the Varsity Cheerleading Team from 2006-2010. Well-travelled, she studied abroad in India during the summer of 2011 and while an undergraduate, she studied at the National University of Ireland at Galway during the fall of 2008. Gargano is admitted to practice in the state of New York.
