The Greater Hartford Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) will be holding the 2008 Middle Atlantic Conference from April 23 - 25 at Foxwoods Resort Casino.
The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) of BOMA was organized in 1926 by the BOMA of Baltimore, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. The first meeting was held in Wilmington, Delaware in January 1929. The purpose of this conference is to create, develop and maintain cooperation among the owners and managers; to promote the exchange of ideas and information concerning the conception, construction management, operation and maintenance of buildings; and to promote the general welfare of the industry.
The federations in the Mid Atlantic Conference are Baltimore, Boston, Central New York, Greater Buffalo, Greater Hartford, Greater Rochester, Long Island, Metropolitan Washington, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Southern Connecticut, Washington, D.C.
Agenda of events include the following:
* The MAC Board, Connecticut BOMA Boards, and BOMA International staff Cocktail Reception on April 23 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. The reception is sponsored by BOMA/Southern Connecticut.
* Golf Outing, Lake of Isles Golf Course on April 24 from 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. The cost is $200 per person includes greens fee, cart, continental breakfast, and snacks on course. Shuttle service available from Foxwoods (fee not included in conference registration).
* BOMI "Ethics is Good Business" course on April 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This course is required for RPA and FMA fesignations. The fee not included in conference registration.
* MAC Board Meeting on April 24 from 3 to 5 p.m.
* Welcome Reception to be held April 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be an open bar and hors d'oeuvres
* Breakfast on April 25 from 8 to 9 a.m.
* Education session "LEED" on April 25 from 9 to 11 a.m.
* Keynote Luncheon speaker Steve Slifka: Nuture by Steelcase "Generations at Work" on April 25 from 12 - 2:30 p.m.
* Education Session: "Federal Homeland Security" on April 25 from 3 to 5 p.m.
* TOBY Reception on April 25 from 6 to 7 p.m.
* TOBY Dinner (Black Tie Optional) on April 25 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Registration fees for the conference include:
* Full conference delegate registration is $295. It includes: Thursday night Welcome Reception, Friday education sessions & keynote luncheon, TOBY reception and dinner)
* Thursday Ethics course registration is $300.
* Thursday golf outing is $200.
* Friday a.m. and p.m. education sessions and keynote luncheon registration is $225. The cost does not include TOBY reception or dinner).
* TOBY Reception & Dinner Registration is $200.
* Spouse/guest registration is $250. This includes Thursday night welcome reception, Friday keynote luncheon, TOBY reception and dinner).
