July 29, 2013 - Brokerage
Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. revealed that Matthew Zangwill, an attorney with the firm's real estate practice group, has been elected to the board of directors of The School for Language and Communication Development, (SLCD), a Glen Cove based educational organization that meets the needs of children, grades K - 12, with severe language and autism spectrum disorders.
Since its inception in 1985, SLCD's mission has been to identify children with language and autism spectrum disorders early in order to provide educational programs which will prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, stories and messages. The school has the proud distinction of being one of the first programs of its kind in New York State and remains one of the few specialized schools in the nation continuing to develop innovative programs for students with language and autism spectrum disorders.
"In my college years, I spent my summers working as a paraprofessional in special education classes. From that experience, I gained an affinity for working with children with special needs and learning disabilities. My participation as a board member goes beyond a purely financial role. I've gained hands on knowledge of the teaching methods employed at SLCD as every board member is assigned to a class. I have gleaned a tremendous sense of satisfaction by witnessing the strides that the students make under the guidance of committed teachers and staff," said Zangwill.
"Ruskin Moscou Faltischek congratulates Matthew Zangwill on his well deserved board appointment. As a firm we take pride in going beyond what is expected from attorneys by getting actively involved within the communities in which we work and live. We value our clients and our communities. Ruskin Moscou Faltischek pledges its continued commitment to both," noted Managing Partner Mark Mulholland.
