On June 25th LICN members gathered at the Bayside Diner to hear Jimmy Vattes, CCIM, speak about commercial mortgages. Members heard about how they can help their clients in thinking about a mortgage, what information a bank needs that the real estate broker can help provide, how the banks think, what do they need to make a decision, what are some of the differences between the various lending options, what role do mortgage brokers play, do they add value and how? Their second speaker, Lyle Sclair, executive director from Bayside Village BID, educated members about BIDS, which is somewhat like a chamber of commerce in that it is an organization of businesses with the intent of promoting various businesses in the neighborhood. He talked about the various bids in N.Y. and the various efforts made to promote business growth and economic development. This was followed by a walking tour of the town on Bell Blvd. attended by 16 members.
