08-01-2013: Consolo and Mann announce 11th Annual Women of Valor Awards Tea
July 15, 2013 - Brokerage
Faith Hope Consolo, chairman of Douglas Elliman's Retail Group and Jeffrey Mann, president of Mann Publications, are calling upon their extensive networks to bring New York's real estate, fashion and business leaders to the Women of Valor Awards Tea, now in its 11th year, at the Waldorf Astoria on Thursday, August 1st, from 11:30am to 2pm. In addition, they bring awareness to the much deserving beneficiary of the event, St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters, an organization that serves more than 1.5 million meals annually and helps over 40 food pantries, soup kitchens, safe havens, drop-in centers and shelters.
Throughout the New York area. Including Yankee legend Mariano Rivera's Food Pantry in New Rochelle, NY.
"This organization resonates with everyone who has a heart, from sports heroes and politicians to everyday people," said Consolo. "Food and shelter are so basic to our lives and when we call upon our friends and colleagues to help, more often than not, they exceed our expectations."
Mann said, "For the last several years, this event has packed the Waldorf Astoria ballroom with upwards to 1,000 people. And many of those attending continue to be active with the St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters long after the Tea."
For the August event, Consolo and Mann will be joined by Honorary Chair and Keynote Speaker Rita Cosby, an Emmy Award-winning TV Anchor, Radio Host and bestselling author. The Guest of Honor for the event is Rosalie Mignano Aste, vice president, Global Real Estate & Facilities Management for IMG Worldwide. In addition, a special presentation of the Macy's Community Star Award will be made to fashion industry leader Pat Kenny, President of Jones Jeanswear Group, a division of The Jones Group.

Consolo, who is also the founder of the Faith Hope Consolo Foundation, which oversees the distribution of donations to multiple charitable causes, opined, "I pray for the day when the St. Francis clergy will be able to focus more on the spiritual needs of New Yorkers, than the corporeal. But in the interim, we are blessed that this organization exists to provide sustenance to so many and as long as they need our help, we'll be there."
