David Shuldiner, Inc. is participating in the renovation of the Times Sq. TKTS glass staircase and public seating structure. The TKTS Booth is the result of the collaboration between architects Perkins Eastman, engineers DewHurst MacFarland, and builder D. Haller. David Shuldiner, a glass, glazing and architectural metal contractor, built the complex structure in 2007, and has maintained the glass ever since. Shuldiner has recently developed a new product and has begun replacing glass treads within the glass staircase of the urban structure. The TKTS "Red Steps" is a place that is visited by thousands of tourists and native New Yorkers each day. David Shuldiner is now installing a new glass product that is engineered for maximum pedestrian safety and infrastructure longevity. The popularity of TKTS has resulted in a demand for new glass treads. The old treads are being replaced with an innovative laminated product that is sheathed in a layer of etched glass which provides long lasting traction for those enjoying the outdoor space. The structure is heated and cooled by a geothermic system that uses radiant panels to protect against the slippery conditions of inclement weather. David Shuldiner has an impeccable record for safety, quality service and customer satisfaction. Maneuvering the treads poses a large safety risk, as the glass is heavy, fragile and challenging to handle.
