John Bouck, president of Bouck Real Estate revealed the $305,000 sale of the "Whispering Winds" Motel, situated at 4221 E. Genesee St., one mile west of Skaneateles. The sale of the 12-unit motel and two acres of land, "Ensures the continuation of adequate hospitality rooms in the Skaneateles area through the foreseeable future," said Bouck. The hotel has been owned and operated by Whispering Winds Motel, LLC, since 1999. Bouck said, "It has consistently had an excellent seasonal occupancy rate, and is an asset to the area."
The new owners are Puzo Properties, of Groton, NY, who have already begun to make improvements. They are currently re-furnishing the rooms and will also be making upgrades to modernize the motel.
Bouck said, "The property will be an excellent medium motel that will continue to serve the area with totally upgraded facilities. The motel is situated a very short distance from the Village of Skaneateles, on major Route 20, which has provided an excellent occupancy rate. While it is a essentially a seasonal motel, it has always been well maintained and attractive. We are confident that it will remain an asset to the area. Additionally, it also shows the confidence of the new owners in this Central New York community."
