Swig of SwigEquities to speak at YM/WREA March 11 meeting

The Young Men's/ Womens Real Estate Association will hold a meeting March 11 featuring Kent Swig of SwigEquities, LLC as the guest speaker. Swig is an owner of several real estate operating companies as well as commercial and residential real estate properties throughout the U.S. His holdings and titles include the following:
* SwigEquities, LLC: Swig is president of SwigEquities, LLC, an investment and development firm focusing on the acquisition and development of real estate in N.Y.C. and California. Since 2001, SwigEquities has purchased and/or is in the process of developing in excess of $3 billion of properties.
* Terra Holdings: Swig is an owner and co-chairman of Terra Holdings, LLC, a company that owns and operates several residential real estate service firms including Brown Harris Stevens, one of the oldest and largest residential real estate service providers operating in N.Y.C., the Hamptons, North Fork and Palm Beach; Halstead Property Co., a residential brokerage and management company comprised of more than 350 brokers throughout the N.Y. area; Feathered Nest, a residential rental firm in Manhattan serving both retail clients and individual landlords through its 135 brokers; and Vanderbilt Holdings, a service firm with disciplines in appraisal and consulting, insurance, and residential mortgage brokerage.
* Helmsley Spear, LLC: Swig is also the owner and serves as president of HelmsleySpear, LLC, a leader in commercial real estate focusing on third party office and retail leasing, asset and property management, and investment sales. The company was originally founded in 1866 with the legendary Harry Helmsley assuming ownership in the late 1930's.
* The Swig Co.: Swig is also a principal in and serves as chairman of the board of The Swig Co., a family-owned real estate and hotel company based in San Francisco and N.Y.
After earning his bachelor of arts degree in Chinese History from Brown University, Providence, R.I., Swig attended Hastings College of Law, San Francisco, where he was selected for the Law Review.
Swig is active in a number of professional, civic and philanthropic organizations including serving on the board of governors of the Association of Builders and Owners of New York (ABO); the board of directors of the Realty Foundation, the Downtown Alliance, and Wall St. Rising.
