Laffey Associates would like to thank the supporters of the 2007 Easter Seals fundraising program.  The tireless efforts from everyone at the Laffey Family of Companies and the overwhelming generosity of the firms' corporate business partners made 2007 a resounding success. This year's total fundraising support was more than $29,000, monies that go directly to the children of the Easter Seals Bronx Facility. Since 2004, Laffey Associates has been a premier supporter of Easter Seals and a top honoree as the number #1 supporter and fundraiser for the program. Laffey sponsored events have raised over $94,000 since the firm became involved with this wonderful organization.Â
Current programs include the Jones Beach Walk-a-thon, the Change for A Change drive - 5-gallon jugs in each office "capture" the loose coins and bills, the Laffey Bowl-a-Thon and the Easter "Sealed with a Gift" Holiday Toy Drive.  This year the toy drive not only raised money with the Toy Box Sponsorships, beautifully decorated by the kids at the Bronx facility, but more importantly gave gifts to each child at the school. This year, the generosity of our employees, agents, loan officers and title salespeople, was overwhelming -- more than 500 toys were delivered to the school. Philip Laffey, principal - Laffey Associates, once again played Santa, delighting children and parents alike with stories of his most famous reindeer, sliding down chimneys and the adventures at the North Pole. Santa was entertained this year as the children performed for him, singing some holiday favorites including Jingle Bells and Feliz Navidad. Afterwards, each boy and girl had their name called and Santa gave each child a special toy, answered questions even got a whole bunch of heartfelt hugs. It was evident that a great day was had by everyone - including Santa's elves.
A special thank you goes out to our premier vendors and business partners who actively supported the fundraising efforts throughout the year by sponsoring lanes, walkers, change jugs and toy boxes as well as supplying raffle prizes for auction at our quarterly sales events. All of these funds go directly to the Easter Seals Bronx School & Learning Facility, earmarked for materials, equipment and supplies.Â
