500 Mamaroneck Ave. has earned the Energy Star designation from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the third consecutive year since 2010, according to Jeffrey Newman, executive vice president for Malkin Properties, the marketing and managing agent for the building. The designation signifies that the property meets energy performance standards set by EPA and uses less energy, is less expensive to operate, and causes fewer greenhouse gas emissions than a majority of its peers.
"We are honored to receive this validation of our energy efficiency and sustainability efforts, which generate substantial operational cost savings for our tenants and which provide meaningful health and wellness benefits for their employees," said Newman.
"The quality-of-life benefits of our programs include creation of a healthier and safer workplace environment in which workers take fewer sick days and employers benefit from enhanced employee productivity.
"Malkin Properties is more firmly committed than ever to energy efficiency, recycling, indoor environmental quality and water use reduction," he adds.
