St. Johnsville awarded $2.709m Restore NY grant

According to the Montgomery County Business Development Center, the village has been awarded a grant in the amount of $2.709 million through the Restore NY Community Initiative Program. The Montgomery County Business Development Center worked with the village and Geo-Environmental Management Solutions, LLC. in the preparation of this grant. Funding will be used by the company to demolish an unusable 40,000 s/f portion of their 200,000 s/f facility and re-habilitate portions of the remaining facility to add a new medical plastic foam products line. This project will result in the creation of 50-75 jobs over the next three years. This is the culmination of months of discussions with the company and one of its main customers. Cellect LLC is a global leader in the development and manufacture of specialty polyolefin bun foams for use in a variety of industrial and consumer markets.
