A message from the president of Long Island Commercial Network
December 11, 2012 - Long Island
After last months "Hurricane Sandy" it is truly a great time to count our blessings. Regardless of our situations we have so much to be thankful for.
Although it was difficult times for many to attend, we still held our Sugar Networking event in November and raised over $500 for the Saint Christophers Childrens Fund along with networking and having fun.
Our education seminar will be rescheduled early next year.
At our last networking breakfast at On Parade Diner in Woodbury, (usually held on the 4th Tuesday) we had legislative affairs from LIBOR-Randy Kaplan and Phil Weiden speak about upcoming changes in tax laws, capital gains, mortgage interest tax and real estate legislation down the pipe.
We then had a lively discussion about the ramifications of the storm and how it will impact our commercial lives.
Again, it's amazing how when we lose simple pleasures in life such as water, plumbing to flush, hot water, heat, electricity, natural gas, gasoline, hot meals, your car, home or businesses (did I forget anything?) how we take everything for granted and really need to be thankful for what we have!!
Have a wonderful, peaceful, joyful Holiday Season!
Bob Stark is the 2013 president of the Long Island Commercial Network, Melville, N.Y.
