Over the years I have attended many functions organized by the Bronx Manhattan North Association of Realtors (BMAR). I always walked away impressed by the quality of Nunzio Del Greco's work. After nearly 30 years leading the association, Nunzio decided to retire and he will be dearly missed. Fortunately for the association and for me, Nunzio left behind a well trained and dedicated staff of hard working individuals.
I want to thank the selection committee and the board of governors for this rare and special opportunity they have given me to build on Nunzio's many successes. On January 1, 2013, I will officially assume my new role as the 14th executive to lead the association. It will take me some time to learn my new role. In the next few months, I look forward to meeting with BMAR's officers and board members. This prestigious association is rich with leadership and I look forward to their guidance so I can effectively shepherd in an era of future successes and expansion.
I want to take a few minutes to tell you a little about myself. I am an attorney and am married to a wonderful woman who I met in law school. My wife, Fiordaliza, serves as a referee in Manhattan Family Court. We are hoping to have her robed as a judge in the near future. We are the proud parents of two energetic boys, Miguel Clemente, age 10, and Cristian Marin, who would be eight by the time you read this piece. We live in the Bronx and only a few blocks away from BMAR's office.
As a family, we are active in our community and we are raising our boys to help their neighbors. It's important to us that our boys master their social graces as we value respect and loyalty. We are members of the Bronx YMCA and we participate in their Tae Kwon Do program. My two boys are high brown belts and their next belt is black. I currently serve as chairman of the Bronx YMCA board of managers and have been a member of Bronx Community Board 11 for the past four years.
In future issues, you will learn more about me. But for now, I love humor and I believe in transparency and visibility. This is a wonderful opportunity for me and I look forward to working with Janine, Diane and Grace in carrying out the goals of the association. I plan on recruiting new members throughout the metropolitan region, promoting networking events and expanding membership categories. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the largest trade organization in America.
