Colliers forms alliance with Sunshine of S.Sunshine
December 11, 2012 - Brokerage
Colliers International has formed an exclusive alliance with Suzanne Sunshine, a real estate professional who has worked with women-focused businesses and non-profit organizations. As part of this new business alliance, Sunshine will represent tenants and landlords through Colliers' full-service global real estate platform, while also growing S.Sunshine & Associates LLC, her Minority- and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE).
Through the newly formed exclusive alliance, Colliers-Sunshine will focus on companies that are led by and/or focused on serving women, including those in the arts, fashion, publishing, health, wellness, cosmetics, technology, education, and financial sectors. In a post-election, post-Sandy environment in which many companies and organizations are faced with difficult real estate decisions, the Colliers-Sunshine alliance is more critical than ever.
"New York City has been impacted greatly by both the election and the recent storms, presenting real estate challenges and opportunities that the Colliers-Sunshine alliance is uniquely positioned to solve," said Joseph Harbert, president of Colliers' eastern region. "Suzanne is an extremely talented real estate executive who will enhance our capabilities and strategically connect us with woman-focused business enterprises through her designations."
Harbert further noted that the exclusive alliance will signify to the business community that Colliers International is actively seeking to work with the best and brightest women and minority executives as well as the organizations they represent.
"Women-focused companies and organizations are critical to the fabric of our city, and require best-in-class real estate services from a team that truly understands them and has the capacity to respond to their diverse real estate needs and goals," Sunshine said. "Combining my experience and the Colliers global services platform, Joe Harbert, [Colliers Tri-State President] Michael Cohen and I are all dedicated to serving this growing and influential community."
Sunshine launched her own full-service real estate brokerage firm that specializes in serving nonprofit organizations more than three years ago. Prior to that, Sunshine led the New York nonprofit practice groups at CB Richard Ellis and Cushman & Wakefield.
Throughout her career Sunshine has represented many notable organizations as both a tenant and landlord representative. They include the American Ballet Theatre, the Andrew Mellon Foundation, Atlantic Philanthropies, International Planned Parenthood/Western Hemisphere Region, the Ms. Foundation for Women Poets & Writers, the Correctional Association of New York, Housing Works Thrift Shops, the Mental Health Association of NY, and the Anne Frank Center.
