Zere Real Estate Services wins land dispute
November 12, 2012 - Long Island
Zere Real Estate Services has recently won a settlement for an undisclosed amount against an estate for a 42-acre parcel of land on the East End of Long Island.
Marie Zere, president and CEO of Zere was the exclusive broker for the property and she also produced the purchaser for large land parcel. To her surprise the property closing took place without the broker's knowledge. The firm was not made aware of the closing date. The estate would not honor the commission agreement until she retained legal counsel Christopher Murray, Esq., of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C.
Zere said, "I stood firm and did not waiver on any negotiations. It became quite clear to the defendants that this would end badly for them with an increased commission fee with penalties of nine percent interest and the cost of further legal litigation with my chronological documented records that I produced the actual buyer for the property."
