September 10, 2012 - Brokerage
The Kaufman Org. has brokered a ten-year, 13,910 s/f lease at Wall Street Plaza, located at 88 Pine St. for Frank Hirth, LLC an international accounting firm. The Kaufman team previously worked with Frank Hirth in 2009 for a 6,125 s/f lease and now helped them double their office space to accommodate company growth.
Michael Kaufman of the Kaufman Org. represented the tenant while Frank Cento of Cushman and Wakefield represented the landlord.
Frank Hirth is a taxation and accounting company with a focus on UK and U.S. taxation. Frank Hirth works with international businesses and individuals with U.S., UK and European connections that require cross-border taxation and accounting advice, specifically with personal tax, family wealth and business advisory requirements. The company's corporate headquarters are in London. Wall Street Plaza will be the firm's U.S. headquarters. The space has large windows providing natural light and views of South Street Seaport and the Brooklyn Bridge.
Although the terms of the lease were undisclosed, the asking rent for the space was $45 per s/f.
"Frank Hirth is growing at a rapid rate in the U.S. and a larger New York office is necessary to accommodate this growth," said Kaufman. "Prior to Wall Street Plaza, the U.S. office was at One Penn Plaza. Relocating to the Financial District, where many of the city's major financial institutions are located was a natural fit for Frank Hirth."
Built in 1971, Wall Street Plaza is a 32-story tower designed by the architecture firm of I.M. Pei. The white aluminum-clad building is located in the Financial District between Water and Front Streets. Wall Street Plaza is also home to notable tenants such as law firm Marshall Dennehy Warner Coleman & Goggin, QBE Holdings, FTI Consulting, PEI Cobb Freed & Partners and Ralph Appelbaum Associates. The building is owned by Orient Overseas Associates.
The Kaufman Org., with 100 years experience and 5.2 million s/f of owned or managed space, has long been considered one of the most prominent and well-respected real estate companies in the New York metropolitan area. The company offers a fully integrated spectrum of leasing and management services to diverse owners and tenants and is continually looking to build its portfolio through property acquisitions.
