February 18, 2008 - Long Island
H2M, a multi-disciplined engineering and architectural service firm with offices in New York and New Jersey, will be one of the key contributors in a major renovation plan for a 50-acre field on the corner of Crooked Hill Rd. and Community College Dr. This park renewal is part of Governor Spitzer's 2008-09 budget plans to help renew community areas, and fields.   The park will be completed in 2 phases of construction during which new playing fields, concessions stands, maintenance buildings, announcer building, playgrounds, picnic areas and parking will all be built.  H2M will be one of the lead architects and engineers and is responsible for all of the buildings on the site.  Three buildings in total: the maintenance building which will house maintenance equipment, soccer storage, restrooms and concession; the announcer building which will house baseball equipment, announcer's booth and concession; and the main building which will be constructed in two phases.  Phase 1 will include concession and restrooms, phase 2 will include office space and an assembly room.   A public meeting was held on Tuesday, January 29 at the Suffolk County Community College campus to unveil the plans for the parkland property.  This parcel of land was originally part of Pilgrim State Psychiatric Center, and fell into poor condition over the years.   "H2M is pleased to be involved in the renewal of this park and providing a place for the community to enjoy," said H2M president and CEO John Molloy, P.E.
