PWGC promotes McCabe

July 16, 2012 - Long Island
According to P.W. Grosser Consulting, (PWGC) Frank McCabe recently passed his Professional Engineering Exam and was promoted to senior engineer. During his time at the firm, his experience has focused on environmental engineering with an emphasis on alternative fueling stations. A major project for PWGC that McCabe played a significant role in was for the town of Oyster Bay's design and construction of a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fueling Station in Syosset, which is open for both municipal and public use. As part of a team dedicated to this project, McCabe was able to successfully help the Town in meeting their project goals. Some of his key responsibilities included: coordination with equipment manufacturers and subcontractors, coordination of civil, mechanical and electrical engineering aspects of the project; design layout for the CNG and electrical equipment; preparation of specifications; bid documents; and construction oversight that included inspections to ensure quality control. One challenge that McCabe encountered at this site was the majority of the work was performed on top of an EPA monitored landfill cap and liner. Because of this, special designs were required to ensure stability and durability while remaining a safe distance above the landfill cap. McCabe's efforts on this project contributed to PWGC's recognition by the New York State Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE) Nassau County Chapter for 2012 Project of the Year and for the Silver Award in the Energy Category from the American Council of Engineering Companies New York for the 2012 Engineering Excellence. PWGC recognizes the contributions and strengths of Mr. McCabe and would like to congratulate him for a job well done! PWGC is a multidisciplinary firm founded by Paul W.
